Working Together

Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. As Mentors you will have an opportunity to connect with your Mentee in a way that their mums, teachers or social workers will not be able to. This trusted relationship means you may see or hear things that they may not share with others.
But be assured you are not alone in making sure that you and your Mentee are staying safe. There is a safeguarding team dedicated to keeping safeguarding at the heart of Chapter2.
Your main responsibility will be to pass on anything you hear or see that causes you concern. Even if you think your Mentor Manager or the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) already knows the information, it is better to pass it on as it may help them to see the bigger picture of what is happening in your Mentee’s life.
