What is the mentor training day?
The mentor training day is the mandatory entry point for anyone who wants to become a Chapter2 mentor. The day is free of charge, and will equip you with highly transferable skills for mentoring and everyday life.
The day is for anyone in the Reading area who is interested in exploring mentoring with Chapter2. Throughout the day you’ll get plenty of opportunities to ask questions of the Chapter2 team and of current mentors.
What we’ll cover

- Understanding the difference a mentor can make
- Tools for mentoring, building trust and best practice
- Safeguarding
Where and When is it?
We offer 3 training days each year. Each training day runs from 9.00 – 16.30.
The training is run in-person, somewhere in the Reading area. If you register interest, we’ll let you know where and when the next training day is.
What should I bring?
Just yourself! A free lunch is provided, as well as a selection of snacks and hot and cold drinks. We’ll also provide a training manual for taking notes, which you can take home.
What am I signing up for?
Nothing yet! Attending the training day doesn’t commit you to anything. We’ll get in touch with you after the training to ask if you’re interested in applying to become a mentor.
